Som &#8221;v&#8221; i namnet antyder finns det olika versioner: IPv4 och IPv6.<\/p>\n<p>I det h\u00e4r inl\u00e4gget g\u00e5r vi in p\u00e5 allt du beh\u00f6ver veta f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rst\u00e5 skillnaden mellan IPv4 och IPv6. Det h\u00e4r ska vi g\u00e5 igenom:<\/p>\n<h2>Vad \u00e4r internetprotokoll (IP)?<\/h2>\n<p>Internetprotokoll (IP) \u00e4r en upps\u00e4ttning regler som hj\u00e4lper till med routing av datapaket s\u00e5 att data kan r\u00f6ra sig \u00f6ver n\u00e4tverk och ta sig till r\u00e4tt destination.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r en dator f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker skicka information blir det uppdelat i mindre bitar, kallade paket. H\u00e4r \u00e4r ett exempel p\u00e5 en IPv6-adress:<\/p>\n<p><code>3002:0bd6:0000:0000:0000:ee00:0033:6778<\/code><\/p>\n<h3>Varf\u00f6r beh\u00f6vde vi en ny version av IP?<\/h3>\n<p>Nu kanske du undrar varf\u00f6r IPv6 ens existerar?<\/p>\n<p>Tja, 4,3 miljarder potentiella IP-adresser i IPv4 kan verka enormt m\u00e5nga, men vi beh\u00f6ver m\u00e5nga fler IP-adresser!<\/p>\n<p>Det finns m\u00e5nga m\u00e4nniskor i v\u00e4rlden med m\u00e5nga olika enheter. Multicasting m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r \u00f6verf\u00f6ring av ett paket till flera destinationer i en enda \u00e5tg\u00e4rd.<\/li>\n<li>IPv6 har st\u00f6rre paketheaders (ungef\u00e4r dubbelt s\u00e5 stors som IPv4).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Hur m\u00e5nga adresser finns i IPv4 vs IPv6?<\/h3>\n<p>Som vi n\u00e4mnde ovan st\u00f6der IPv6 1 028 g\u00e5nger fler IP-adresser \u00e4n IPv4.<\/p>\n<p>IPv4 st\u00f6der cirka 4,29 miljarder adresser.<\/p>\n<p>IPv6, \u00e5 andra sidan, st\u00f6der&#8230; ja, det enklaste s\u00e4ttet att skriva det \u00e4r 2^128 olika adresser.\u00a0Om du \u00e4r intresserad av det exakta antalet, erbjuder IPv6 s\u00e5 h\u00e4r m\u00e5nga unika adresser: 340 282 366 920 938 463 463 374 607 431 768 211 456<\/p>\n<p>Det betyder att vi har en l\u00e5ng v\u00e4g att g\u00e5 innan vi f\u00e5r slut p\u00e5 IPv6-adresser!<\/p>\n<h3>Vilket \u00e4r snabbare: IPv4 eller IPv6?<\/h3>\n<p>I allm\u00e4nhet finns det ingen stor skillnad mellan IPv4 vs IPv6-hastigheter, men vissa bevis tyder p\u00e5 att IPv6 kan vara n\u00e5got snabbare i vissa situationer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.sucuri.net\/2016\/08\/ipv4-vs-ipv6-performance-comparison.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sucuri k\u00f6rde en serie tester<\/a> p\u00e5 webbplatser som st\u00f6dde b\u00e5de IPv4 och IPv6 och fann att det i princip inte fanns n\u00e5gon skillnad p\u00e5 de flesta webbplatser som de testade.<\/p>\n<p>Du kan dock ocks\u00e5 hitta n\u00e5gra bevis som visar att IPv6 \u00e4r snabbare. <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.fb.com\/2015\/09\/14\/networking-traffic\/ipv6-it-s-time-to-get-on-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook&#8217;s Engineering Blog<\/a> uppgav till exempel att &#8221;vi har observerat att \u00e5tkomst till Facebook kan vara 10-15 procent snabbare \u00f6ver IPv6&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 samma s\u00e4tt <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akamai.com\/blog\/trends\/10-years-since-world-ipv6-launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">testade Akamai<\/a> en enda <a href=\"https:\/\/kinsta.com\/blog\/what-is-a-url\/\">URL<\/a> p\u00e5 ett iPhone\/mobiln\u00e4t och s\u00e5g att webbplatsen hade en medianladdningstid som var 5% snabbare med IPv6 \u00e4n med IPv4.<\/p>\n<p>Det finns dock m\u00e5nga variabler, s\u00e5 det \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt att <a href=\"https:\/\/kinsta.com\/blog\/debugging-wordpress-performance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">j\u00e4mf\u00f6ra prestanda <\/a>utan att k\u00f6ra h\u00e5rt kontrollerade experiment.<\/p>\n<p>En anledning till att IPv6 kan vara snabbare \u00e4r att det inte sl\u00f6sar tid p\u00e5 n\u00e4tverksadress\u00f6vers\u00e4ttning (NAT).
