HR Generalist

Location: Budapest

We are looking to hire an HR Generalist to take over the administration of all of our HR information systems and to provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Organize and maintain personnel records for our global organization.
  • Keep internal HR databases and information systems up-to-date.
  • Accurately maintain personnel data and files (paper-based and digital records), ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist our payroll providers by providing and updating employee information: vacation time used, leaves of absence, sick days, hours worked, overtime, etc.
  • Participate in month-end closing activities.
  • Be the first point of contact for questions from employees and contractors regarding HR data or information.
  • Provide answers confidently and accurately while exercising proper discretion with regard to data privacy and company policies.
  • Take ownership for the workload, exercise effective time management, prioritize tasks and complete all assigned projects, keep management informed if workloads become unmanageable.

Requirements

  • Extreme attention to detail is an absolute requirement of the role.
  • Impeccable professionalism and discretion is also necessary to operate in an HR role which will have access to a great deal of sensitive information.
  • Completely fluent in both English and Hungarian.
  • Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Generalist, Administrative Assistant, or another similar relevant role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and confidently at all levels, both externally and internally.
  • Flexible, adaptable, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines when required.
  • Able to work independently, under minimal supervision.
  • Computer and tech-savvy.

Bonus skills

  • Familiarity with Hungarian, US, and UK labor laws.
  • Work experience in a distributed global company.
