Jaggards, also based in Sydney, sells (and buys) bullion and collectible coins, with prices for much of it influenced throughout the day by commodities markets.

The Jaggards website is a highly customized WooCommerce engine that supports real-time pricing for hundreds of SKUs. And it all requires the kind of reliability and security needed to safeguard the reputation of a company that has been a trusted dealer in precious metals for more than 60 years.

The challenge: Supporting a store that’s part commodities market 

Adrian Rodriguez, an EUX Digital director and technical lead, says the Jaggards website is like a trading platform. Polling of the nFusion API powers real-time updates of product pricing and reporting on precious-metal spot markets.

Customer checkout relies on stock inventory, time-limited price freezes, Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for large orders, complex tax calculations, and custom Stripe authorization. That’s all before CRM/ERP integration.

Pricing, product availability, customer verification, checkout, and order handling all work together on the Jaggards site. If pricing is stale, checkout is slow, or the website is unavailable during a high-demand period, the business can be exposed to lost orders, customer frustration, and significant financial risk.

Because Jaggards’ pricing is tied to live metal markets, trust and pricing accuracy are critical.

For real-time pricing to work, it’s essential that backend processes supporting API queries and pricing updates execute accurately without causing performance issues for Jaggards’ customers or administrators on the frontend.

Before moving to Kinsta, Jaggards was hosted on a platform that couldn’t keep up with the increasing complexity of e-commerce the site required.
