Great news for the Swiss market! Further increasing Kinsta’s reach in western Europe, we are excited to announce that the data center in Zürich Switzerland (europe-west6) is now available for hosting your WordPress sites. 🇨🇭

This is the first new data center launched in 2019 and you can expect more to come.

Kinsta now has 19 Google Cloud data centers you can choose from (this is the sixth in Europe), allowing you to place your website in a geographical location closest to your visitors. This ensures better data privacy, low latency, and blazing fast load times.

According to Internet World Stats, Switzerland alone has over 7.7 million internet users. It boasts one of the world’s most advanced economies and has been ranked the number one country in the world, three years in a row, by U.S. News & World Report.

Wabion is more than just excited to see Google Cloud coming to Switzerland. Frankly, I believe this is the best thing that could happen to the Swiss cloud market. We have customers that are very interested in Google’s innovation who haven’t migrated because of the lack of a Swiss hub. The new Zurich region closes this gap, unlocking huge opportunities for Wabion to help customers on their Google Cloud journey. (Source)

Google has stated that this new data center will improve latency for end users in Switzerland and surrounding regions (by up to 10 ms). Previously the closest available data center was in Frankfurt, Germany. But don’t take our word for it, you can use GCP Ping to see for yourself how fast the Zürich data center is from your location.

And don’t forget, the Kinsta CDN also has a location in Zürich.
