However, it’s also important to note that for years now, Google has bought enough renewable energy to match 100% of its electricity use around the world. Google Cloud is possible thanks to multiple types of renewable energy, from solar to wind power.
There’s no way around the fact that data centers consume massive amounts of electricity. However, on average, Google data centers use about 50% less energy than other options.
