Kinsta’s Managed WordPress Hosting platform is moving to Google Cloud’s fastest virtual machines in its Taiwan data center.

Also known as asia-east1, the Taiwan data center is now the third in the region that Kinsta has dedicated to Google’s C3D VMs, following their adoption in Jurong West (asia-southeast1) in Singapore and Mumbai (asia-south1) in India.

Outside of Asia, Kinsta customers currently have access to the new VMs in eight other data centers:

  • Sydney, Australia (australia-southeast1)
  • St. Ghislain, Belgium (europe-west1)
  • Frankfurt, Germany (europe-west3)
  • Eemshaven, Netherlands (europe-west4)
  • Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA (us-central1)
  • Moncks Corner, South Carolina, USA (us-east1)
  • Ashburn, Virginia, USA (us-east4)
  • Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (us-west4)

We’re migrating existing customer websites in Taiwan to the new technology for free. Meanwhile, if you are creating a new website, C3D-powered data centers like Tawain and the others above are highlighted in MyKinsta with the Boosted indicator:

At Kinsta, we aim to provide customers with the fastest and most reliable hosting anywhere. We’ve built our service on the most advanced virtual machines Google Cloud has available in each data center. In many locations, the fastest offering is still Google’s compute-optimized C2 VMs. But we’ll be moving to the more powerful C3D technology wherever it becomes available at scale across the 37 data centers used by our customers.

Kinsta’s testing of C3D-based VMs found 20% to 50% response time improvements over those already-fast C2 machines.

What makes the C3D machines so fast is technology that includes AMD’s EPYC™ processor and an infrastructure processing unit (or IPU) that offloads network and storage I/O from the CPU.

C2 VMs offer up to 60 virtual CPUs and 240 gigabytes of RAM. C3Ds serve up six times those resources — as many as 360 virtual CPUs and 2.88 terabytes of DDR5 memory.

We’re all in on fast WordPress sites

Google Cloud’s powerful virtual machines are just part of the story behind Kinsta’s platform. Customers also benefit from Google’s low-latency Premium Tier network and 260+ Cloudflare PoPs that support our blazingly fast CDN, edge caching, early hints, and built-in image optimization.

If fast and reliable WordPress sites are what you need, find a Managed Hosting package here at Kinsta that’s right for you.
