By Dev Sharma, Updated: March 13, 2017
However, if you own a WordPress blog, then there are only a handful of useful plugins. Today, I am going to share five of the best and most popular WordPress lead generation plugins that will help you attract more email subscribers in order to expand your list.
WordPress Lead Generation Plugins Index
1. OptinMonster (Premium)
OptinMonster is a fantastic list building plugin. I have been using it on my site since the first version was released and it is one of the best plugins for building a highly engaging email list.
The most recent version (OptinMonster 2.0) comes with a number of new features and addons for the plugin – all of which are aimed at making it an even more powerful tool for anyone looking to grow their email list. Here’s the list of new features:
- New optin form themes for popups, sidebar, and after post
- Canvas for creating custom themes
- Animation Effects
- Manual optin trigger
- Optimized code for fast loading
- Insert forms on your site with shortcodes
One of the main advantages of this plugin is that most of the features such as slide-in optin, sidebar optin, exit-intent technology, animation effects, footer bar, after post optin, and mobile for creating mobile specific optin forms are available as separate addons, meaning that if you are using this plugin for just popup boxes or exit intent like me, then you won’t have install other extra addons.
2. SumoMe (Free)
SumoMe is not your everyday WordPress plugin; in fact it is completely different to any other list building plugins available out there. SumoMe is a free toolkit for growing your website’s traffic, and includes all kinds of apps such as Leads, Smart bar, Scroll box, List builder, Contact form, Share, and Content analytics.
The apps can be used on any type of website, but for WordPress users there is a free plugin available which makes enabling the apps much easier. Once you have installed the plugin, you can choose the apps that you want to enable on your site.
Personally, I have only tested the List Builder app, a ligthbox popover that can be customized to automatically appear after a certain amount of time, or you can use the smart mode, that detects the user behavior pattern and shows the popup when user is about to leave your website.
It integrates smoothly with all major autoresponder services like Mailchimp, Aweber, Constant Contact, Campaign Monitor, Infusionsoft, and GetResponse.
3. Popup Domination (Premium)
Popup Domination was one of the first plugins that made optin popups popular among WordPres users.
It boasts all the essential features that you will need to create a popup optin for your site.
Unlike other plugins, this one doesn’t try to excel in all aspects of list building, instead Popup Domination aims at providing beautifully designed optin popups.
It comes with an easy to use design customizer, built-in analytics reporting, A/B split testing, page level targeting, exit intent, support for all major email marketing platforms and more.
One of the great advantages of this plugin is that it comes with a standalone version which can be used on any type of website.
4. PlugMatter Feature Box (Free and Premium)
PlugMatter Optin feature box is a premium list building plugin that enables you to create an optin form that will be displayed between the header and your content area.
It is a perfect alternate for those who hate popups and don’t want to use intrusive methods to get more subscribers for their mailing list. It comes with 10 different templates that can be easily customized via the built-in customizer. Each template is responsive, meaning that it will work as great on smartphones and tables, as it works on desktops. It also lets you place specific customized offers for posts by category, or on a specific page / post.
You can also disable the feature / optin box for visitors who are already subscribed to your email list.
5. LeadPages (Premium)
LeadPages is not just another lead generation plugin. The main function of LeadPages is to create high converting squeeze pages. It is not exclusively designed for WordPress sites, but it does come with a plugin for integration with WordPress.
One of the main features of this app is Leadboxes, which gives you a link that you can insert anywhere on your site, and when a visitor clicks on the link, it will open an optin form box. This feature has been widely used for getting more subscribers by providing a bonus content for which users have to enter their email addresses.
It comes with a price tag of $37 / month with a limited set of features. If you don’t like paying a monthly premium, then you should check out OptimizePress.
