Sevalla

Sevalla is a Kinsta platform purpose-built for Application, Database, and Static Site Hosting. Designed with developers in mind, Sevalla offers the flexibility and scalability needed for modern web projects. It supports a wide range of use cases, from lightweight static sites to complex, API-driven applications, and includes powerful features such as Object Storage, prebuilt Templates, Git-based deployments, custom domains, and automated scaling. For more information about Sevalla, check out the Sevalla docs.

MyKinsta, on the other hand, is tailored specifically for Managed WordPress Hosting. If your focus is on hosting WordPress websites, MyKinsta provides a streamlined, performance-optimized environment backed by a suite of WordPress-specific tools. These include automatic daily backups, staging environments, built-in caching, free CDN and SSL, and expert WordPress support.

While it’s technically possible to host a WordPress site as a custom application on Sevalla, Managed WordPress Hosting is only available through MyKinsta. Managed hosting offloads much of the technical maintenance, such as updates, security patches, and server optimization, so you can concentrate on content, marketing, and growing your business.

In short:

  • Choose Sevalla for apps, databases, and static sites with maximum control and modern tooling.
  • Choose MyKinsta for dedicated, worry-free WordPress hosting.

Currently, both MyKinsta and Sevalla offer Application, Database, and Static Site Hosting. However, the Sevalla team has been continuously enhancing the platform with new features and expanded capabilities that are exclusive to Sevalla.

As a result, Application, Database, and Static Site Hosting will be removed from MyKinsta on 31st January 2026. This change will not affect your existing services; you will simply need to access them through the Sevalla dashboard using your MyKinsta credentials. To make this transition seamless, a direct link to Sevalla will be provided within MyKinsta, allowing one-click access to the platform.

Sevalla migration FAQs

To support you through the transition to Sevalla for application, database, and static site hosting, we’ve put together a list of common questions and helpful answers.

What is Sevalla?

Sevalla is the natural progression of Kinsta’s application, database, and static site hosting, our platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings. Last summer, we launched the Sevalla brand to create a better, standalone application development platform that improves on what we started at Kinsta.

What’s changing?

The location where you manage your applications, databases, and static sites. You can log in to Sevalla using your MyKinsta username and password. Alternatively, from January 31st, you will be able to click the Sevalla logo at the bottom of MyKinsta to be redirected to Sevalla.

When will the change happen?

You can access Sevalla right now using your MyKinsta username and password. Your services will be accessible from both MyKinsta and Sevalla until January 31, 2026.

Can I access my PaaS services in MyKinsta after the change?

No. After January 31, 2026, the Static sites, Applications, and Databases menu items will be removed from the MyKinsta navigation and replaced with a link to the Sevalla dashboard.

Do I need to create a new account for Sevalla?

No. You can use the same username and password that logs you into MyKinsta.

So I need to use two separate dashboards after the change?

That’s right, but we’ve made sure that the change will be as convenient as possible. If you’re accessing Sevalla from MyKinsta, simply click the link; no further authentication is required. The Sevalla dashboard will open in a new browser tab, allowing you to manage your services.

Will there be any downtime of the services because of this change?

No. Your applications, databases, and static sites will remain unaffected and continue to operate without interruption during and after the transition. The transition doesn’t affect managed WordPress hosting; it only applies to applications, databases, and static sites hosted at Kinsta.

Will the price of hosting services change?

No. Hosting service prices are unaffected by this change.

Will my invoicing be affected?

No. If you have both managed WordPress and PaaS services, you will continue to receive separate invoices for each service; no changes will be made to the invoicing process.

Will this change mean that Sevalla is a standalone service and managed by a new company?

Sevalla is a standalone service developed by Kinsta over the past few years as an exceptional experience for managing PaaS services. But under the hood, Sevalla is powered by the incredible Kinsta team. That won’t change. Sevalla is a dedicated platform for your services, making the experience more straightforward and intuitive.

Do I need to accept new terms and policies for Sevalla?

No. Kinsta and Sevalla share terms and policies, so as a Kinsta client, you’ve already accepted the relevant terms.

How will I access the API endpoints for these services?

The API endpoints for Application, Database, and Static Site Hosting will no longer be available in the Kinsta API starting January 31, 2026. To continue accessing these services programmatically, you will need to use the Sevalla API.

Why is this change happening?

The Sevalla team has been iterating, improving, and expanding Sevalla beyond the PaaS services available at Kinsta, with additional features including app pipelines, object storage, advanced networking, enhanced analytics, and more. Because those improvements are only available on the Sevalla platform, we believe it makes sense to transition Kinsta PaaS users so you can benefit from the more advanced Sevalla platform.
