Data Center Locations

When you create a new site, application, or database, you can choose from a list of data centers. We recommend choosing the location closest to your target audience to reduce latency and improve speed.

Boosted regions

In the boosted regions, the PHP execution and database requests are faster and can handle significantly more demanding workloads, meaning websites’ response time is faster, even at peak times. The boosted regions show significant performance improvements with non-cached responses, such as e-commerce, membership, forum, community, and learning websites. Our testing has shown that the boosted regions’ website’s response time is 20% to 50% faster than the average response time of the regular regions.

Kinsta’s boosted regions run on high-performance machines designed to deliver consistently improved speed and reliability. These machines feature newer-generation CPUs paired with a custom Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU) that offloads system-level tasks, allowing the CPU to execute significantly more instructions per second for faster performance. They also offer enhanced I/O throughput, further optimizing system efficiency and stability.

Boosted regions are available for the following data centers:

Best data center tips

To choose the most suitable data center for your site or application, start by identifying where the majority of your users or customers are located. Selecting a data center that’s geographically closest to them helps reduce latency, as data travels a shorter physical distance between your server and their devices. This results in faster load times and an overall better user experience.

You can use tools like Google Analytics to view your visitors’ geographic distribution. The Audience > Geo > Location report provides insights into where your traffic originates, helping you make an informed decision about which data center region will deliver the best performance.

In the following example, you can see that over 90% of the traffic is coming from the United States. So, choosing a US Central data center would be recommended as that will have the lowest latency for visitors coming from within the United States.
